DAY13 *explore your alter ego*

proposed by Lenn

Explore your alter ego by making they/her/him a paper outfit and slowly dress in front of the mirror / camera while recording. Try to fully empathise with your character and explore your possibilities in your daily life.

Preparation:

-come up with a (imaginary) character you always wanted to be

-grab some paper, pencil, scissors and tape (instead of paper you can also use old fabric / clothes that you no longer wear or use)

-put on (loud) music your alter ego would like to hear

-start sketching your clothes on a full scale and cut them out -put your smartphone / camera in central position (next to a mirror)  -place the paper-clothing on your body and make adjustments where necessary with tape and scissors (be careful not to injure yourself, we don't need that right now)

-try to slowly dress while enjoying the time with your alter ego

-journal your thoughts and insights

Invitation to share: If you feel like (and dare) share your alter ego with us info[a]mohaproject.com so we’ll post them here.

Zsofi:

My alter ego is an African Mama. Her name is Abenna. She is 45; full of wisdom, energy and life. She is full of joy, warmth and power. She is a strong , independent woman who helps setting up businesses for local woman who are disadvantaged in many ways in their community. The centers she sets up for example - provide free medical care for every age, including many forms of healing, such as physical, mental or physiological. She also provides free education to the youth of her community, where these young people can discover their talents and they can be free to express themselves - boys and girls equally. She works hard to be able to look after the well-being of the people in her community. And the well-being of the Land. Abenna helps young and old in every way she can. She is all about community - she is all for her community.

Her favourite dish is ‘Red-Red’, which is a beans-fish stew with rice and plantain. She also loves snacking on Kelewele - spiced fried plantains. Her favourite fruit is fresh mangos.

For relaxation - she loves travelling but her favourite thing is to spend time in the near by fishing villages by the ocean. She likes staying in the local beach huts, eat fresh sea-food, swim in the sea, dance to reggae music by the campfire, drink beer and sleep with man. She enjoys being alone as much as she loves being with her friends, family and the locals. She likes beautiful local colourful fabrics, locally hand-made jewelries and local art.

She Lives!

Notes: Something in me - always want to be an African Mama. I guess part of me IS an African Mama :)  From a long time i had been drawn to colours, colours more colours, music, singing, dancing and palm trees and the sea. The part of my heart and soul always pulls towards Africa - this is not just an admiration built on wishes and desires…. it is a deep feeling.

I collect beautiful african fabrics, bags, dresses and jewelries, which I hardly wear as I have thoughts, that I could never pulled that off - because I am white and because I live in a grey country called England.
