Every evening before we go to bed we fill a glass with water in case we are thirsty in the night.
Often, in the morning, when we wake up we haven't touched the glass. We then use the water to water the fern that sits next to our bed. We take the opportunity to see how the fern is doing, if some of its leaves have dropped or if it has any new growth. This is a special moment for all of us. A special moment that we would like to share with all of you.
We invite you to fill a glass with water before you go to bed (preferably quite a big one). Put it down next to your bed. You can drink some but not all of it.
When you wake up in the morning, before you do anything, share the glass of water with the plant that lives the closest to your bed.
While you are watering the plant think about your relationship, your cohabitation, and how you have all changed since you know each other.
If you feel like it you can touch its leaves, smell the scent of its buds, listen to the sound its leaves make when they move. Be attentive to any response the plant might give you.
If you feel like it, share a small text about your experience in the comments.
We would love to hear about it.

PS: If the nearest plant to your bed is a succulent, water with caution. It might not be as thirsty as you.
From Zsofi:
After I wake up usually my first trip is to the kitchen to make myself a nice cup of coffee. When that's done - I like to look out through my garden doors where inside hanging from the ceiling is my favourite plant - my lipstick plant. (I know - I perhaps shouldn't have favourites but I do a little) I got this plant as a present from my partner Simon last year for my birthday. I came across this plant in the cafe where I worked in Batheaston 2 years ago - and where I made close friendships with owners workers and their families. I don't live in Bath anymore - I moved away 1 and a half…
I love this idea ! Unfortunately I do not drink at night, but one thing I somehow really like doing for my plants is to dust their leafs so they can breath and take in all the light and humidity. I once found that a make-up brush makes this moment particularly enjoyable.
This plant and her two sisters were given to me by a dear friend shortly after I moved in. I find them beautiful. My friend told me they were very good at keeping the air bright for me, so two are in my bedroom. They're a little fragile, or so they seem. They do need water more often than my other plants and if I miss they will…
I live with 15 plants in my room. I love each one of them. I do this little care ritual with them everyday at different times of the day. This morning I chose one specific one. It has long and fluffy leaves. It felt good to spend some extra time with it. I moved it to my desk recently and it is kind of shining there. I work and see its leave sticking from behind my computer :)
